As the co-owner of Club Verse alongside husband Michael Repp, Riley Richter shares a profound passion for providing an inclusive, empowering environment for Salt Lake City’s LGBTQ+ community.

Riley’s journey with Club Verse began in the aftermath of a difficult chapter – the closure of The Sun Trapp bar, where he and Michael previously worked. Determined to rise from those challenges, Riley embraced the opportunity to build something new and extraordinary with Club Verse.

While Michael took the lead in realizing the club’s vision, Riley’s role has been equally vital in shaping its warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a deep well of compassion and emotional intelligence, Riley has helped foster the nurturing, judgment-free culture that defines Club Verse’s ethos.

One of Riley’s core focuses is ensuring Club Verse’s events and programming celebrate the full spectrum of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences. From the groundbreaking “Gender Where?” drag show spotlighting trans and non-binary performers, to collaborative efforts with organizations like Seniors Out & Proud of Utah, Riley is committed to creating an intentionally diverse lineup that makes every patron feel seen and valued.

Beyond the club itself, Riley is a tireless advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and representation in the local community. He has worked closely with Michael to build strong partnerships with non-profits and community groups, using Club Verse’s platform to raise awareness and funds for important causes close to their hearts.

With his kind spirit, inclusive mindset, and steadfast dedication to the club’s mission, Riley Richter has become an inspiring figure in Salt Lake City’s queer community. Alongside Michael, he is helping write a new chapter defined by empowerment, visibility, and uncompromising acceptance.
