Michael Repp is a passionate advocate for the LGBTQ+ community and the driving force behind the creation of Club Verse. With a deep commitment to providing a safe, inclusive space, Michael has poured his heart into making Club Verse a haven for self-expression and personal growth.
After over a decade working in Salt Lake City’s LGBTQ+ nightlife scene, including managing the city’s former landmark gay bar The Sun Trapp, Michael recognized the dire need for a new establishment that truly prioritized the safety and empowerment of the local queer community. In the wake of The Sun Trapp’s closure amid controversy, he was determined to create a space built on the core values of compassion, empathy, and trust.
Michael’s vision for Club Verse is centered around cultivating an atmosphere of acceptance, where patrons can freely explore their identity without fear or judgment. His hands-on approach ensures the club maintains the highest standards of security, with extensive measures like ID checks, metal detectors, and rigorously trained staff. But beyond physical safety, Michael aims to provide a nurturing environment for personal and community growth.
Partnering with local LGBTQ+ organizations is a key priority for Michael, who sees Club Verse as more than just a business – it’s a community resource and platform to amplify important voices and missions. From hosting educational events to fundraisers, he is committed to using the club’s influence to uplift the entire queer community in Salt Lake City.
With his unwavering dedication, entrepreneurial spirit, and deep emotional investment in Club Verse’s success, Michael Repp has established himself as a pioneering force in creating truly safe spaces for the LGBTQ+ community to call home.
